Our Story
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with our Parish Podcast Project community. We have been granted 501(c)(3) status by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)! This is a significant milestone for us!
The 501(c)(3) status is a legal designation granted by the IRS that acknowledges an organization as a charitable entity. The designation is named after the section of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code that outlines the regulations for non-profit organizations. This status allows donors to make tax-deductible contributions to the organization, broadening the range of potential funding sources.
Our new 501(c)(3) status opens up a world of opportunities for the Parish Podcast Project. Firstly, this recognition affirms our commitment to operating as a nonprofit, with a mission to provide high-quality spiritual content through our podcasts. It provides assurance to our donors and partners that we are dedicated to transparency and good governance.
From a financial standpoint, this status allows us to apply for grants and receive tax-deductible donations, which can significantly help us expand our reach and continue to produce inspiring and enriching podcasts for our listeners.
With this new status, we will continue to strive to bring more more parishes from dioceses to our platform from dioceses across the United States.
We also aim to foster collaboration with clergy and lay individuals who share our passion for producing engaging Catholic content. These collaborations will only enhance the quality and depth of our podcast offerings.
Podcasting enables us to bring the Church's teachings to a new generation in a format they readily engage with. It also offers parishioners the convenience of connecting with their faith at their leisure, be it during their daily commute, a workout session, or a moment of quiet introspection.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us in beginning this journey, from the first handful of pastors who saw the vision, to dioceses that continue to reach out.
As we celebrate this achievement, we remain committed to our mission of providing engaging Catholic podcasts for parishes in the United States.
